Anzon Australia
Limited ("Anzon Australia") is an upstream oil and gas
company formed to acquire, develop and commercialise defined oil
and gas fields. The size of its existing reserve base positions
Anzon Australia as a medium-size player in Australia’s oil
and gas industry.
Company
History
Anzon Australia was registered as a company under the Corporations
Act on 16 December 2003 by its founding shareholder, Anzon Energy
Limited, and acquired a 100% interest in the Victorian Retention
Leases VIC/RL 6, VIC/RL 9 and VIC/RL 10 (the "Retention Leases"),
which include the Basker, Manta and Gummy fields (the BMG Fields),
from Woodside Eastern Energy Pty Limited on 15 March 2004. The Company
was registered as the legal holder of the Retention Leases on 19
April 2004.
On 7 October
2004 Beach Petroleum Limited acquired 8.9% of the Shares in the
Company and a 25% interest in the Retention Leases, with Anzon Australia
maintaining a 75% interest.
Aims
and Objectives
Anzon Australia’s strategy is to be an operator of oil and
gas fields and to maintain a significant equity interest in future
ventures, utilising the expertise of its key management team, together
with suitable technology.
The Company
aims to actively participate as an owner and manager of international
petroleum producing assets to generate profits for the benefit of
its shareholders, the communities in which it operates, and its
employees.
Anzon Australia
intends its operations to be focused on acquisition and development
of defined reserves and optimisation of production in controlled
acreage, particularly those with early investment payback profiles
and those that will potentially generate long term cash flow.
To increase
its petroleum reserves, Anzon Australia intends to:
• acquire and develop under-exploited defined oil and gas
fields;
• increase the recovery from mature fields by enhanced development
and recovery techniques; and
• undertake exploration activities within existing acreage
or where external exploration opportunities arise.
Anzon Australia’s
acquisition of the Retention Leases earlier this year was aligned
with this core strategy.
